On the March 15, 2021, a latest development to be introduced on the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) by The Ministry of Labor, Training and Skills Development. The department to introduce an Expression of Interest system under the Ontario Immigration Act, 2015:

The goal of the introduction of Expression of Interest system is to help:
- Strategically manage intake
- Achieve growth in OINP’s labor market responsiveness
- Improved respond to regional labor market needs
The following OINP streams will be affected with the introduction of Expression of Interest system:
- Employer Job Offer Category streams
- Masters Graduate stream
- D. Graduate stream
Currently the new applications are not accepted. The department will start the streams for new applicants within a few weeks of the successful implementation of the Expression of Interest system.
According to this points-based registration system, it is easier for the Ministry of Labor, Training and Skills Development to select the best and most skilled economic immigrants that meet the requirements of this point-based system and the province’s labor market needs.
